OPTOI Sensors is a 20 year old Italian company. Initially focused on electronic packaging, they now design and develop silicon sensors for industrial, environmental, biomedical, telecommunications and aerospace applications.
Outstanding features: OPTOI has four types of sensors: optical, reflective, chemical MEMS and magnetic sensors. Many light sensors are used in barcode scanning and motion control systems, and their emission sensors are used in automated trading systems and medical barcode scanners. Its partner, Bellini, will spend a year detecting changes in icebergs, how ice turns into icebergs and how icebergs turn into water. OPTOI will provide Bellini with sensors to detect environmental changes and biometrics.
