The project was born by the Gizmo For You team out of a need to have a single, highly modular product which could be well supported and upgraded based on needs of a specific time. Due to constant innovations in the field of electronics it was decided to have a single project for all current and future embedded ideas from the community.

Projects such as Ares, FLOW (starting from FLOW G2), W.I.L.L and others have merged into the ShellFish initiative where all can be achieved with the same set of tools and customizable options. Based on the originality of ShellFish group design any embedded idea can be assembled with the same set of software and hardware tools without the need of reinventing the wheel each time.
