Since the first creation of Ares we had allot of thoughts and improvements on our mind. This project is the initiation for an ultimate gaming device based on our own processing architecture with a dedicated processor and a single board design. There are many gaming platforms out there and most claim to be Open-Source where in reality they are not. In order to brake this curse we decided to create a Gaming device which will be everything anyone would ever want and have games not only as emulators for commercial brands but dedicated games as well as (if all goes well) well known game titles.

If anyone wishes to participate then we will be more than happy as this is an Open Source initiative and any contributions from the Open Source community are encouraged.

Make sure you see the information about the First Ares initiative in the Shop as well as in our Wiki and Blog sections to get a better understanding of what this is and how it has evolved.

Our main goals for the project are:

1. LOW Price - Meaning that it should be competitively priced if compared to other gaming platforms (which brings us to the next step)
2. Large quantity production - 1000 units with a Pre-Order program. Large quantities will ensure that the device is manufactured in a very low price and will be available to any gamer.
3. High performance components and general hardware
4. Stylish Conceptual design with quality parts
5. Games developed just for this console with help from us and the community
6. If possible invite and integrate known game titles
7. Add as many features as possible hardware wise as well as software
