Contest Time!

We have created a great Open Source gaming platform code name Ares but what is a great gaming platform without games? Sure there are emulators that use other commercial games and play them fine but this isn't how it should be by our opinion. Games should be designed specifically for their platforms and take advantage of the many cool features that the platform has to offer. For this reason we recently announced a great contest which creates a perfect marriage between an Open Source platform and Open Source Gaming engines. We initiated the contest in both communities for Ogre 3D and IRRLicht. Although we did so, it doesn't mean that you cannot use your own engine as long as it can be ported onto a Linux platform and the game played on it. Rules for the contest can also be viewed in the community forums and explain in details the criteria as well as prizes. We give the freedom for creating anything that you might think of and provide a great opportunity to sell the games in our Shop without taking almost any earnings from their sales. You can also Donate to the contest or general gaming development which takes place in our community. Any donations made during the contest shall be added to our own winning amount to the 1st place winner and will be used for the development of the game.

Since we already have one Pre-Order plan for our newest FLOW G1.5 PDA we also did the same for the Ares Gaming platform. This should create a great opportunity for those who wish to develop on the platform or play the wonderful games that we are creating for it. The prices although in manufacturing quantities of 10 are still quite competitive considering all the features that these platforms have. Pitch in and add your own thoughts as well as ideas for the contest, Pre-Order or if you really want the platform now then Order the Gaming platform and start creating away.

If you still haven't heard, then you definitely should check out our YouTube channel and Google Group. We have many discussions going on there and any new events or videos are posted there as well as in our news. Subscribe to both and stay updated with the latest news and events we prepare for our wonderful community.

Don't forget that our website is based on everything Open Source and we only encourage everyone to add their own content in the Blog section or anywhere else. Any Registered User can add content and new info to our website for others and him self. We often post information and documentation on the website mainly for us since with all the illustrations and explanations it helps us to quickly remember something or add something new. Do the same and help others in learning everything we have to offer and help us build a wonderful community for anything and everything Open Source.
