It's been some time since our last news post, the workshop has been booming with new development and ideas. Many members have been requesting projects in the background for personal use and this is one of the reasons that we don't actually post anything about them, others are developed on our website for everyone to see. So let's get everyone updated with the latest and greatest.

After many requests from our users we have posted the 3D Step files for the complete FLOW G1.55 mechanical assembly. We actually should have posted the files sooner but after the G1.55 update we changed some internals so the files you will download shall be the finals. It is actually quite useful for those who want to experiment with the FLOW components such as the LCD, Gumstix or others. Many customers who own a FLOW often want to experiment with new design or implement the hardware in their own enclosure, so this should solve any issues with that and give complete freedom to anyone who requires it.

Speaking about Step files, we also have uploaded the assembly for our WiFi Linux Wall-Wart since the interest for this Gizmo has grown so much. You wouldn't believe the E-mails we get with wonderful and original ideas that this Gizmo has spawned. Applications that can only be seen in commercial and expensive projects as well as almost futuristic ones. Make sure you read the specs of this Gizmo since we have made many improvements to it's design to accommodate a larger collection of applications. With things such as Dual Cameras, Compass, Audio In and Out, Gumstix Overo Air, Internal speakers and Microphone, this Gizmo surely is a useful for many ideas and general development.

New ideas is what drives Gizmo For You and gives us the opportunity to make wishes of our members become a reality when it comes to hardware and software. Sometimes things that we already have or products from other manufacturers can pretty much do what you need it to without making prototypes and can give you an idea about what exactly is it that you need and how to best formulate your idea.

DeviceKnit does exactly that. We have been approached by the leaders of this concept and to be honest this fits wonderfully into the pipeline of creating new devices and making their operation better and more appropriate for what you need. Members who are already developing on our FLOW platform know that we host the Android repository on Gitorious. Our repository sits on top of the official Android release and recently a new version has come out, Froyo which is the 2.2 version of Android. If you have been trying to Sync and compile the repository during these past few weeks without success then don't worry, this is normal as we are still organizing and fixing the repository to compile and should be back on track soon.
