Initially thought as an expansion board for the Gumstix Verdex Pro line of platforms, Since the Robostix board uses an ATMEGA 128 Micro controller and can operate digital signals for interfacing this Gizmo. It is safe to say that this Gizmo can be used with any 5V Micro controller for decoding Quadrature signals. The Gizmo operates on 5V DC and requires a regulated current to operate, there is no Voltage regulation on the Gizmo it self.
