New Projects, Updates & More!

It's been a while since we posted news and all for a good reason. Many updates have accumulated on the site with lot's of stuff to do and read about. We have been working non stop to bring you all the goodies we currently have and those we shall be talking about today. So let's get everyone up to speed on what has been going on all this time.

First up is the WiFi-Linux Wall Plug Gizmo we created. After some requests from the initiator of the project we have updated the design as well as added some new features. From now on we shall be only selling the Gizmo in White. It looks better, we machined allot of white enclosures and in general it gives a whole new face to the Gizmo. As for features, we have added additional Audio Jacks for the Microphone signals as well as for the speaker. A complete redesign of PCB's was done to tidy up everything inside the device, adding FLEX ribbons for the Cameras and LED's, moving around some components for better mechanical integrity and rerouting everything once again to eliminate any remaining noise coming from Overo. The Microphone Pre-Amps on this baby are just awesome and we want everyone to have the best experience possible using them. Additionally we added connectors to the PCB for the Power, Speaker, Microphones for simpler dis-assembly. Check out the schematics for this Gizmo as well as JOIN the Community Group to receive any updates related to this Gizmo if you are interested in it. The above picture was taken from the Group Gallery so there are plenty more to look at which show the PCB's in more detail as well as the design in whole. Hopefully other users will find new and interesting implementations for this Gizmo other than it was originally designed for, so enjoy the Gizmo and if you have any questions the don't hesitate to Contact Us or post your query in the Forum, create a Community Discussion or post in the Project section (whichever is more relevant to your question)

After our initial Ares design and release we have stumbled upon many obstacles to get into the feel of things surrounding this field. Allot of interest has been spawned for the Gizmo and project in general by many communities through out the web and we were only happy about it. After some time we took a second look at all of the "Open Source" competitors out there in the Game Console industry and to our surprise it turns out we are the only ones (which is completely fine by us as this is the whole point of Gizmo For You) who actually post truly Open Source projects (Ares included) which are commercially viable and presentable. So after allot of thought and Brain Storming we shall be taking upon us the risk of creating a Truly Superior 2nt Generation Gaming console and make it right this time by scheduling and preparing for mass production in quantities larger than 1000 units. This will allow the Gizmo to be as accessible as possible for everyone and at the same time have every modern IC and module currently available in the market. Concept Designs already are being created by a very talented team of artists and wheels have begun turning. We also are happy to say that after some donations to the cause we feel that we are not alone in this and will do our best not to disappoint anyone. Feel free to join the Community Group, Project or make a donation, easing our own budget which we happily spend for every idea on this website.

Keep on reading (by pressing the Read More link below) as this is not all and there are plenty of news yet to read about.
