• Ilios HD Complete Kit

Get the best equipment for your application with an affordable price. Begin building mechanically accurate and highly detailed objects in no time.

The Ilios HD Kit was initially designed for mechanical applications, where precision and reliability matters the most. In its assembled form it can produce stunning results with the help from its highly accurate motion construction and electronics. The Ilios project utilizes the technique of Stereo-lithography or SLA as it is commonly known. The build uses photo reactive resin, which is cured when light is projected on it. The lifting platform, lifts each layer of the model and finalizes with a complete product at the end of the build. One of the benefits this technique has is the highly detailed result, which simply cannot be matched by machines that use plastic extrusion methods. Additionally there is a large selection of materials that can be used, which simulate results such as ABS, Rubber and many others, combined with a color mixture of your choice, in both Opaque and Translucent options.

  • FliteTest Interview

FliteTest was kind enough to talk to Demetris (Creator of the OSRC System) about the features of the system and at the same time answer some of the questions that were gathered throughout the RC community. Chad and Josh talk about features such as RF Cloud, modularity of the whole system and why it was important to have these and many other unique features in a single project.

Although the video does not fully explain all features, it gives a great opportunity to meet Demetris and get an overall idea about the history of the project and its future through the eyes of the creator.

Feel free to browse through other videos on the OSRC YouTube channel to find out more about the system or head to the Forum with your own questions or suggestions.

Don't forget to check out the OSRC Facebook site as well, where many news and daily updates take place while working on different features of the system. Post your comments there as well, like the site and contribute to the effort.

  • Detailed Description

In this video the designer of the OSRC (Open Source Remote Control) system goes through all major features and talks about the benefits they hold. The video was mainly created to address most of the questions that gathered through the OSRC as well as other forums, comments on YouTube, E-mails and other social media.

Although it was impossible to describe the entire system in a single video, most functions, hardware accessories and the over all details are described in this presentation, giving a more complete understanding of how the OSRC system works and why it is important.

You can read more about specifications and features each module of the system has in the Products section of the website. For more videos don't hesitate to visit the OSRC YouTube channel.

Seasons ModelAt-last, the hard part is behind us. The Ilios machine produced its first results. The initial build, seen in this image was a test not only for the functionality of the machine but also for its endurance since during the build there were lots of tests done, like adding weights to the build lift, messing with the motors and doing stress tests while the machine was working. Needless t

Lovingly holding on to my creationFinally after many days in testing and development i can now proudly say that our Ilios HD machine is working. Although the last component for our first build hasn't arrived yet (PDMS for the Vat surface), all mechanics operate flawlessly and i even did a test print with the projector setup mentioned in our Facebook page.

Things that shall be used to build the 3D printerAt last all the parts needed for the 3D printer build arrived. It took some time for the main components (mechanics) to get here but once i received the crate, it became clear why. The package weighed over 280kg and was very nicely sealed in a wooden crate. All the aluminum extrusions, spindles, fastening hardware

New Site, New Design, New Direction

Share

After a quite long period of planning, searching and waiting, a dedicated and community driven site for OSRC has been created. A place where others can participate, contribute and learn while bringing a great remote control system to life. A beautiful Forum, specifically for development, discussions, news or questions was created to build a useful source of information for current and future members. An OSRC File Repository was formulated for all official OSRC sources as well as future community uploads and contributions. Blogs, with latest and updated documentation articles, functionality descriptions, tutorials or general community projects were established and can be accessed by all who wish to learn or contribute.

Besides the OSRC website, a general Social presence was established on the official OSRC Facebook Page as well as Twitter, where anyone can comment, discuss and share content about all OSRC activities and give others a clear view about the project direction and status.

For those who wish to learn more about the current state of the project as well as release dates and activities taken to update and improve the system, i created a Blog which shall be maintained and updated while development and production stages take place. Feel free to share your thoughts about anything related to OSRC in the Forum or subscribe to the blog to get updates about latest news.
